Men's Squash All-Ivy, Postseason Awards Announced

PRINCETON, N.J. -- Harvard’s Victor Crouin and Cornell’s Veer Chotrani earned the Ivy League men’s squash postseason awards following a vote of the League’s head coaches.
 
Harvard sophomore Crouin was unanimously selected as the Player of the Year, Cornell freshman Chotrani was dubbed the Rookie of the Year and Harvard’s Mike Way was named the Coach of the Year.  
 
Crouin posted an unblemished 9-0 campaign at the No. 1 position for the Crimson. The Var, France, native is a two-time Ivy League Player of the Year. Crouin went 7-0 in Ivy League play, sweeping the top players from around the League. 
 
Chotrani spent his freshman campaign in the No. 1 position for the Big Red, compiling an 8-7 mark. The Mumbai, India, product went 3-4 against Ivy League opposition. 
 
Way guided the No. 1-ranked Crimson to a 14-0 record and their 43rd all-time Ivy League title this season. Harvard is searching for its second-straight and 27th all-time national title and Potter Cup next weekend at the CSA Men’s National Team Championships.  
 
Eight Ivies were unanimous First Team All-Ivy selections: Chotranti, Harvard senior Saadeldin Abouaish (Cairo, Egypt), Crouin, Harvard sophomore Marwan Tarek (Cairo, Egypt), Penn junior Andrew Douglas (Brooklyn, N.Y.), Penn sophomore Aly Abou Eleinen (Alexandria, Egypt), Princeton sophomore Youssef Ibrahim (Cairo, Egypt) and Yale senior Spencer Lovejoy (Branford, Conn.). 

Ivy League champion Harvard earned a quartet of First Team All-Ivy nods—Abouaish, Crouin, Tarek and junior Samuel Scherl (South Orange, N.J.). 

Ivy League runner-up Penn also claimed multiple First Team All-Ivy nods in Douglas and Abou Eleinen.

Four teams produced one All-Ivy honoree—Columbia sophomore James Wyatt (London, England), Cornell’s Chotrani, Princeton’s Ibrahim and Yale’s Lovejoy.
